Hydrate and Head Out!
Fall is here, so plan to get out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise! Check out this simple worksite program, Hydrate and Head Out, (or H2O) which encourages participants to get in the habit of taking a walking break and staying hydrated. What could be easier?

Stairwell Campaign

Taking the stairs regularly is a great way to increase physical activity. It’s fast, easy, accessible, and a lot cheaper than joining a gym! One way to inspire your employees is to hang these motivational posters that offer short encouraging messages to prompt a climb on the steps instead of an elevator ride. Try a new poster each week or each month to help get moving!

America on the Move 2007 -- the Results!

Steps to a Healthier Rochester partnered with the Rochester Area Family Y to implement a local, community worksite challenge during the fall of 2007.   Utilizing the America On the Move steps logging website, 26 organizations including schools, non-profits, health care organizations, businesses and government entities took part in the six-week wellness challenge. Donated pedometers were distributed to all participants, in addition to random prize drawings to encourage continued motivation and incentive. The goal of the campaign was to incorporate additional physical activity into daily lives of staff by working with employers.

Here's a quick look at the statistics from this year:

Total Participants: 308

Total Steps Reported: 97,853,501

Total Distance (Steps to Miles): 48,926.75 miles

Total distanced traveled by America On the Move 2007 participants was equal to 1.96 trips around the equator!
