Community Consortium
Community Consortium

Summary of last meeting
The last community consorium meeting was held on December 10th, 2008. Lindsey Jackson, Steps intern and MPH candidate, gave a presentation on diabetes prevention specifically targeting those with prediabetes. Results of a literature review and implementation of "I CAN Prevent Diabetes," a diabetes prevention program in Steps communities was discussed.

The consortium also had a discussion about the need for a community clearinghouse of local programs. The biggest barriers to such a site is who would host it, update it and fund it. All agreed that it is an important issue and should be discussed further.
